An Exhibition of Paintings by Dr Stephen Henning

An Exhibition of Paintings and Drawings by Dr Stephen Frank Henning Wildlife, landscape, portrait artist and zoologist, Stephen has had his artwork published in journals, books and newspapers. He has also had sets of numbered prints of endangered South African butterflies produced to support conservation projects in his beloved Africa. He works in acrylics, watercolours, oils and pastels. His pencil and pen and ink drawings are particularly popular, especially his pencil portraits of people and animals done to commission. He has a rare gift for capturing the atmosphere of the natural landscapes and animals that he has spent a lifetime studying and knows so well. Stephen has a PhD in Zoology and has worked as a research scientist, teacher and lecturer both in Africa and here in the UK. His many years spent in the African bush have given him a particular love of those harsh landscapes and animals. The magnificent African sunsets always captivated him as he camped in the bush and his ambition is to capture on canvas that glowing, dramatic sense of Africa. This is the subject of many of his most popular paintings.
